When this note was first published it headlined the award as a 2024 result. BUILD Magazine’s own winners page records it as 2022, and the 2024 winners list does not include us, so we have corrected the year. We would rather publish a correction than leave a claim standing that the issuer’s own record does not support.
The award as the issuer records it
Lairds of Troon was named Best Family-Run AV & Technology Solutions Provider, Scotland in BUILD Magazine’s Construction & Engineering Awards 2022. The category wording is the issuer’s, and the listing is on BUILD’s winners page.
How we treat awards like this
BUILD is a publisher award programme rather than an independently judged competition with a published shortlist and a ceremony. We list it, linked to the issuer, and we do not lean on it. The awards we would point an architect to first are the ones with a shortlist and a judging panel: Gold, Veteran Owned Business of the Year at the Scottish Veterans Awards 2022, the Chamber Business Awards regional placing in 2023, and the Ex-Forces in Business Awards finalist placings in 2022 and 2026. Every award we publish, with its issuing body and year, is listed on the About page.
Family-run since 1999, working across Scotland for the client and with the architect. If you would like to talk about a project, start a conversation.
