Structured cabling, fibre and managed networks for homes and businesses across Ayrshire, Glasgow and Edinburgh, designed on the drawings and installed to a standard you can test.
We design and install structured cabling and enterprise networking throughout Ayrshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh and the west of Scotland. It is the part of the building nobody sees and everything else depends on: lighting, cinema, CCTV, heating and control all run on it. We use Ruckus and enterprise switching rather than consumer kit, and we wrote up the reasoning in enterprise network infrastructure, getting in on the ground floor and the Wi-Fi experience. The Firth Pavilion is a commercial example.
First fix is the whole game. Get the containment, the rack position and the ventilation right on the drawing and everything afterwards is straightforward. Get it wrong and every later trade pays for it.
Stone, lath and thick walls behave differently. We survey the fabric and design the wireless around it rather than fitting access points and hoping.
Where uptime matters and the network carries payment, booking and surveillance traffic as well as staff and guest access. Segregated properly, documented properly.
We measure the building, not a floor plan. Construction, wall density and where people actually sit decide access point positions.
Cable schedule, rack elevation, ventilation, VLAN plan and switch capacity. Resolved at RIBA Stage 3, before first fix.
Containment and cabling with the other trades, to the programme.
Every run tested and the results issued. A cable that has not been tested is an assumption, not an installation.
Labelled rack, cable schedule, test results, network documentation and one number to call.
It will work until it does not. A single consumer router covering a whole house is asked to do routing, switching, firewalling and wireless at once, and it fails at the first three quietly. Once lighting, cinema, CCTV and heating depend on the network, that becomes everyone else problem too.
RIBA Stage 3, before first fix. Containment, rack position and ventilation are almost free on a drawing. Retrofitting them means lifting floors that have just been laid.
Usually, but not by adding more access points at random. Thick stone and lath behave very differently from plasterboard. We survey the fabric, predict coverage against it, and cable access points to the right positions rather than guessing.
Yes, as standard rather than on request. Every run is tested and certified, and the results are issued at handover so the installation can be checked by someone other than us.
Enterprise switching and Ruckus wireless, specified against the building rather than against a price point. We would rather explain why a specification costs what it does than install something we know will be replaced in three years.

Your smart home is only as strong as the network behind it.
From dropped Zoom calls to glitchy streaming and laggy smart tech, most issues start with poor or outdated infrastructure.
At Lairds AV, we design and install reliable, professional-grade home network infrastructure that supports all your devices – today and tomorrow.
We cover full property networks, Wi-Fi optimisation, structured cabling, and fibre installations across Scotland.

✅ CAT6, CAT6a or fibre optic cabling
✅ Wi-Fi 6 mesh coverage throughout the home
✅ Centralised AV & media distribution
✅ Neat rack cabinets & patch panel setup
✅ Segmented networks for guest, family and devices
✅ Support for 4K/8K streaming, gaming, CCTV and automation
We map your space, usage needs, and tech stack. No overkill, no guesswork.
We run discreet CAT6/CAT6a/Fibre lines between critical zones – covering TVs, media rooms, APs, cameras, and more.
We use ceiling-mounted Wi-Fi 6 access points to deliver consistent signal across every floor.
Your network is centralised into a clean, labelled cabinet – ready for future upgrades.
With VLANs, firewalls and proper configuration, we help protect your data and smart devices.

Building your dream home offers a unique opportunity to hide the technology away. We work from your architectural plans to install a future-proof backbone of CAT6A and Fibre cabling before the walls close, ensuring your home is ready for 8K video, smart automation, and whole-home audio from day one.

You don’t need to rip down walls to get enterprise-grade Wi-Fi. We specialise in discreetly retrofitting data cabling and installing powerful Wi-Fi 6 Mesh systems designed to punch through thick sandstone walls and cover every corner of your existing property.

The ultimate cinema or gaming experience demands more than just Wi-Fi. We provide dedicated, hardwired data lines directly to your media centre, guaranteeing smooth 4K HDR streaming and competitive gaming performance without the frustration of dropouts.
The Backbone of Your Smart Home A Laird AV network isn’t just for the internet. It is the unified highway that connects your entire home ecosystem:
Security: 4K CCTV streams without lagging.
Automation: Instant response from lighting and blind controls.
Distribution: Send 4K video from one rack to every TV in the house.

We don’t use off-the-shelf consumer routers. We install enterprise-grade hardware from leaders like Ubiquiti UniFi and Ruckus, giving strong security, roaming that holds as you move, and remote management capabilities.
Your network is the central nervous system of your home. That is why all our cabling is installed to strict BICSI Standards—neatly dressed, fully labelled, and Fluke-tested to guarantee performance. No bird’s nest cabinets. No guesswork. Just a solid, secure connection you can trust.
Whether you are building a new smart home or upgrading a rural property, we tailor your network to match real-world usage, not just specs. Our work spans detached homes, city flats, and commercial estates across:
Glasgow, Edinburgh, Ayrshire, Fife, Perthshire, Newton Mearns, Bearsden, Kilmacolm, Stirling, and the Highlands.

Stop struggling with dead zones and buffering. Secure your home’s digital future with a professional structured cabling design.
