Lairds of Troon · Technology engineers
Uncompromising performance, wherever the horizon takes you. We design and install marine-grade audio-visual, control, and networking systems that deliver the comfort of home on the open ocean.

In the modern marine environment, reliable data is as vital as fuel. We specialise in robust, enterprise-grade marine networks, bonding 4G/5G, VSAT, and Starlink Maritime to ensure owners and crew stay online. From video conferencing in the owner’s cabin to streaming entertainment on the sun deck, our networks are rock-solid.

Salt, moisture, and vibration demand specialised hardware. We install marine-rated audio systems that deliver concert-quality sound on the aft deck without succumbing to the elements. Inside, we create immersive cinema experiences with Kaleidescape servers and hidden screens that save valuable space without compromising on performance.

Automated marine lighting and Lutron blinds that adjust to the time of day, creating the perfect ambiance from the galley to the stateroom.

Single-interface control for AV, HVAC, and security. Simplify complex systems into one easy-to-use touch panel for guests and crew.

Breathing new life into aging vessels. We remove obsolete legacy systems and retro-fit modern, reliable tech with minimal disruption to the interior.
Marine installations face challenges that land-based projects never see. With years of experience working in shipyards and marinas across the UK and Europe, Lairds understands the unique rigours of marine engineering. We deliver systems that are robust, redundant, and ready for sea.

A superyacht is a floating city. We work alongside shipyards, naval architects, and ETOs to deliver systems that are robust, space-efficient, and ready for the rigours of the ocean.
Whether it is a new build in the Netherlands or a technical refit in the Mediterranean, we design systems that respect the unique constraints of marine joinery and cabling routes. We ensure every component is accessible and marine-rated.
Time in dry dock is expensive. Our teams are experienced in working within tight shipyard schedules, collaborating with other trades to ensure the AV and IT commissioning is completed before the vessel launches.
If a system fails in the Caribbean, you can’t wait for an engineer to fly out. We build secure remote access into every vessel, allowing us to diagnose, update, and fix issues instantly from our HQ in Scotland, keeping your charter on track.
Motor yachts and larger private vessels, where there is a saloon or cabin worth treating properly and an owner who expects the technology to behave like it does at home. The work runs from audio and cinema through to network, control and connectivity.
Salt, humidity, vibration and temperature swing. Domestic equipment put on a boat fails in ways it never would in a house, and it usually fails at the connector and the mounting before the box itself. Specifying for the environment is most of the job.
Both. Larger work is easier during a yard period when panels are off and cable routes are reachable. Dockside work suits upgrades and remedial visits. We would rather see the vessel before committing to either.
We can bring navigation and vessel data onto the same displays and control interfaces where the equipment allows it. We do not alter navigation equipment itself. That is a regulated area and it belongs with the specialists who certify it.
Yes. Connectivity at sea is what makes remote support possible, and it is now what most owners expect for everything else on board. Siting the antenna and getting the network behind it right matters more than the subscription.
If the vessel has a connection we can usually diagnose it remotely and, often, resolve it. Where we cannot, we would rather tell you what is wrong and what it needs than guess, so that whoever reaches the vessel first arrives with the right part.
