Ballochmyle Estate - Technology Enabled
Technology Enabled Property
A project carried out a few years ago and still maintained to this day. Located on the exclusive Ballochmyle Estate outside Mauchline, Ayrshire. This home was the show home from the original developer of the estate. They had the vision to create a technology-enabled property.
That's as far as it went. Bring the client in, and let them see what 'could' be done. Sell the house.
Then, the system required maintenance. Updates and a continual dialogue with the new owner. What do they want? How do they see the system helping with with their daily needs?
The Problem
Initially, the system had been 'stuffed' into a wardrobe without thought for layout, labelling, air passage, the management or access. And other trades had entered the property to install electrical Equipment for the outdoor hot tub. Unplugged most of the Equipment with no thought of its operation and necessity.
This caused the client too much stress and a phone call to Lairds for help.
Fast forward, They now have a fully functional system that continues to operate flawlessly. The Solution
Fast forward, They now have a fully functional system that continues to operate flawlessly.
Our procedure included an entire strip out of the Equipment in the cupboard—testing the cabling throughout the property, including an audit of the networking equipment and broadband provision.
Re-termination of any damaged cables, labelling and documenting all the network wiring in the property.
At Lairds, we believe that the infrastructure in your home must be documented. These documents become an integral part of your property documents and add value to your home.
All Equipment has been housed in a purpose-built AV Rack with power management and conditioning.
This property has video and audio distribution using control4's products, including Triad, Binary, Araknis and OVRC.
Lairds also monitor the client's system and ensure their network is secure from external threats continually, giving our client peace of mind.
Control4 Automation has also recently been upgraded to the new Core processors.
Brand new IPCCTV has also been added to the system. The client can now view his cameras from anywhere in the world using the Control4 interface.
