Ludo Primal Wellness: technology consultancy for a new gym, room by room

The owner of Ludo Primal Wellness had a clear vision for a gym that married function with design, including floor-to-ceiling projection in the main space. Lairds provided the consultancy: what was feasible, what it would cost, and what to specify in each room.

The brief

The gym’s design covered very different spaces, each with its own technical and aesthetic needs, and the owner wanted expert advice on integrating the technology cost-effectively and in line with the vision. The ambition for the main space was an immersive experience with floor-to-ceiling projection.

What we advised

Ground-floor main space: the feasibility and cost of laser projectors for large-scale digital signage. Glass cube: projection on to the cube’s surfaces, with individual images on each face or continuous projection mapping across them. Multi-purpose room: a combination of projection and LED wall, with a drop-down screen, plus audio, Wi-Fi, control, lighting and video conferencing. Foyer and entrance: a video wall for the high-footfall area, audio zones, client recording and biometric logging. Executive training room: zoned audio, privacy glass and HVAC synchronisation. Changing and yoga rooms: audio zones, LCD screens, Wi-Fi and how to repurpose rooms efficiently. And a front-projection film option as the cost-effective route, with pricing estimates for budgeting.

The result

The owner left with the knowledge and the recommendations needed to take the design forward, priced, room by room. That is what our design and consultancy service is for: the decisions before the purchase orders.
