We design and install smart home systems throughout Ayrshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh and the west of Scotland, from our workshop at Marathon House, Olympic Business Park, Kilmarnock. New builds and renovations
The cheapest time to do it, because the cabling goes in with everything else. We work to the architect drawings and coordinate first fix against the programme rather than negotiating it on the day.
Occupied houses
Harder, and the honest answer depends on the building. Where a full rewire is not realistic we design around what is there, using wireless where it genuinely works and saying so where it does not.
Estates and private households
One number, one engineer who knows the building, and a written response time. We do not discuss our clients, we do not photograph their houses for our own use, and we do not put our name on anything in them.
How a smart home gets built
1. Survey and brief
We measure the property, ask how the household actually lives in it, and tell you what the building can and cannot support.
2. Design
Cable routes, rack position and ventilation, network topology and control layout are resolved on the drawing. With an architect involved this is RIBA Stage 3, before the walls close.
3. First fix
Containment and cabling go in with the other trades, coordinated rather than retrofitted.
4. Commissioning
Everything is tested, programmed and handed over working, with the network documented and the rack labelled.
5. Support
Documentation, test results and one number to call.

Do you install smart home systems near me?
We work throughout Ayrshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh and the west of Scotland from Marathon House, Olympic Business Park, Kilmarnock, and travel further for larger projects.
When should smart home technology be specified in a build?
RIBA Stage 3. Rack position, ventilation, cable routes and containment are all cheap on a drawing and expensive once the plaster is on. Anything introduced after Stage 4 is not design, it is retrofit, and the client pays for it twice.
Can an existing house be converted without rewiring?
Sometimes. It depends on the fabric and on what is already in the walls. We survey first and tell you honestly whether a wired system is realistic or whether wireless is the better answer for your building.
Which control system do you use?
Control4 or RTI depending on the brief, with Lutron for lighting and blinds. We are an authorised Lutron HomeWorks dealer. The choice is made at design stage against what the property and the household need, not against what we would rather sell.
Will it still work if the internet goes down?
Yes. Lighting, heating and audio run on the local network and keep working. Remote access and streaming need the connection, everything else does not. This is one of the differences between a designed system and a collection of apps.
What do you hand over at the end?
Network documentation, a labelled rack, test results and one number to call. The engineer who commissioned the system is the one who comes back to it.
