Hansel is a West of Scotland social care provider that has supported people with learning disabilities for fifty years. When they asked Lairds to look after the technology for their Winter Ball at Brig o’ Doon House Hotel in Alloway, we brought the PA, the lighting and the lasers, and stayed from the first meeting to the last dance.

Hansel is close to our hearts: a leading social care provider based in the West of Scotland, offering services to people living with disabilities, and for fifty years at the forefront of developing support for adults with learning disabilities, with the active participation of the people they work for. Their Winter Ball is one of the Ayrshire calendar’s best nights and it raises money that matters. We were honoured to be asked.
Working with the hotel and the musicians, we set out to make the room feel warm and fun rather than staged. The lighting was tuned to the rustic finish of Brig o’ Doon House so that it blended rather than bounced, and the PA carried the speeches, the auction and the band. We brought a PA system with a 24-track mixing desk, vocal and instrument microphones, laser and haze machines, the laptops and computers that drive them and wireless interfaces for control, and ran all of it through the evening. For the finish, the lasers and lighting turned the glitz up.
An event that ran without a hitch, which is the feeling we work for, and a charity that could concentrate on its guests and its fundraising rather than on a cable. We were there from the initial meeting to the end of the night, and we would be back next winter in a heartbeat.

Sound, lighting and lasers for the whole evening, with Lairds on the desk, and the planning visits beforehand that make a ball run as though nobody is working.
We will meet you at the venue, plan the room with the hotel and the band, and be on the desk on the night. Tell us the date.
